C.A.S.T. Collaborative Arts for Stage and Theatre

CAST

C.A.S.T. is a space to experiment with and dissect fundamental approaches to acting and scene study, working toward a community-shared performance.
Ages: Youth 13-24 (or by special permission of Artistic Director)

Our most advanced theatre program for youth is for dedicated students looking to challenge themselves within a concentrated development program. Students will train intensively in the craft of acting, while also learning the areas of theatrical production bringing it all together for a final presentation of a chosen play for an audience.

This program emphasizes self-development and awareness, acting, voice technique and also allows students to work in each area of the theatrical production, including design, textiles, management, direction, marketing and more. Build a common language as an ensemble through relaxation and trust exercises, then move onto sensory work, text analysis, and an in-depth exploration of a variety of acting techniques to discover and refine the methods that best support your work. Bumbershoot is committed to cultivation and innovation, reaching out to our community and inviting them in, encouraging those gifts that we believe can be developed and explored through participation in the arts and our programming. Participants will have the opportunity to work with professionals and community leaders, develop a portfolio of work and accomplishments, and develop leadership and performance skills.

CAST is an exciting and rare opportunity to develop an important cultural experience the entire community can enjoy.
