Bumbershoot Children's Theatre provides a week-long residency with 50-60 of your
students taking center stage in a full-scale musical. Bringing the theatre experience
to you! We set up shop in your school and facilitate the production and direction
of your students participating in a pre-selected show. This comprehensive program
assists schools in mounting their own family- friendly production in one miraculous
week. At the end of the week there are two performances for public audiences.
Part of our mission is to make theatre an integral part of the learning process.
Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem
are all characteristics that are attained through participation in this unique and
educational project. Our team arrives in your school with scenery, costumes, props—everything
it takes to put on a play . . . except the cast.
This week-long residency begins with an open group audition and culminates in two
public performances. Fifty to sixty students grades K-7, or a combination of these
ages, are cast and well rehearsed throughout the week, learning lines, songs and
choreography to perform as an ensemble in producing a full-length musical. Our shows
are original adaptations of the children's stories and fairy tales that you know
and love.
The fee includes an open audition, intensive rehearsals, two public performances
(you keep the proceeds from all ticket sales).
